Quality Control

The standard to which the Regulatory Board of the Denomination of Origin Rķas Baixas subjects its wines is reflected in their quality. The job of the board begins with plot inspections and gathering computerized data on each vineyard. During harvest, all grapes entering the cellars are inspected and the Regulatory Board makes sure that they come from registered vineyards and that the yield is in accordance with the registered surface area.

Upon completion of the harvest, cellars are assessed in order to have proof of the liters obtained. Subsequent to it, periodic inspections to check the amount of the produced wine are carried out.

Prior to blotting, cellars shall issue a demand of bottling.

As a requirement to obtain the counter labels, an observer of the Regulator Board takes samples of each vat that subsequently are subject to analytical controls and to a sensorial aseement of a tasting committee.

Only those wines beating these test can show the counter label of Rķas Baixas proudly.
